California Avocado Toast – 4 Ways

Avocados have exploded on the scene lately. From avocado lattes (yes, they are a thing) to avocado restaurants, it is hard to not encounter them. A popular and delicious avocado recipe that has become all the rage lately is avocado toast. There are so many different ways to create avocado toast, and with all the nutrients and healthy fats stored in the avocado, it makes for a create meal or snack. Here are four different ways you can make the best avocado toast you can, courtesy of I Wash You Dry!

 

Feta Cheese and Sriracha Sauce

This is the perfect pick- me up piece of toast. It packs a flavourful punch with a mixture of salty and spicy!

Ingredients

  • 1 slice of whole wheat bread, toasted
  • 1/4 California avocado, mashed
  • 2 tsp crumbled feta cheese
  • Fresh cracked black pepper
  • 1 tsp Sriracha sauce

Instructions 

  • Spread the mashed avocado on top of the toast, sprinkle with the crumbled feta and black pepper. Drizzle with the Sriracha sauce and enjoy!

 

Sun Dried Tomato Pesto and Cilantro

This is great for those who enjoy a more savory avocado toast. The cilantro gives it a fresh taste and the tomato pesto is loaded with flavour!

Ingredients

  • 1 slice of whole wheat bread, toasted
  • 1/4 California avocado, diced
  • 2 tbsp sun dried tomato pesto
  • 1 tsp chopped cilantro
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  • Spread the sun dried tomato pesto on the top of the toast and add the diced avocado. Sprinkle with cilantro and sea salt and enjoy!

 

Cashews, Craisins and Chia Seeds

This avocado toast makes a great snack or even post workout meal! Every ingredient is loaded with essential nutrients and the craisins add a touch of sweetness!

Ingredients

  • 1 slice of whole wheat bread, toasted
  • 1/4 California avocado, sliced
  • 1 tbsp salted cashews
  • 1 tbsp craisins
  • 1 pinch of Chia seeds

Instructions

  • Place the sliced avocado on the toast, sprinkle with the cashews, craisins, and Chia seeds and enjoy!

 

Strawberries, Goat Cheese, and Balsamic

Have a little bit of a sweet tooth? This is the avocado toast for you! The sweet berries keep this recipe super sweet and the goat cheese and balsamic glaze add a bit of tang and creaminess to the whole mix!

Ingredients

  • 1 slice whole wheat bread, toasted
  • 1/4 California avocado, mashed
  • 2 large strawberries, sliced
  • 1 tbsp goat cheese, crumbled
  • 1 tbsp balsamic glaze, drizzled

Instructions

  • Spread the mashed avocado on the toast, then top with the sliced strawberries and goat cheese. Drizzle on the balsamic glaze and enjoy!
