Protein Popsicles

Protein Popsicles

Personal trainer and Pilates specialist, Kathleen Trotter loves Fudgesicles, but unfortunately, they aren’t the healthiest snack out there. She decided to create something similar in taste, but a lot healthier! These protein pops are low in calories, free of artificial additives, and are great for a post workout snack (or when you feel like snacking!)

Ingredients

  • Ice                                                                      2 Handfuls
  • Protein powder                                         1-2 Scoops
  • Almond milk                                                1 Cup
  • 1/2 a frozen banana (see Tips)

Items Needed

  • Popsicle mold
  • Blender
  • Cutting board (if you are chopping up fruit to add)

Directions

  1.  Slice up the fruit you want to add to add to the mixture.
  2.  In a blender, combine ice, protein powder, almond milk, and fruits. Blend until all your ingredients form a shake-like consistency.
  3. Pour your mixture into the popsicle mold and freeze.

Tips

This recipe can be played around with according to your likings. Others who have made these have added strawberries, flax, avocados, almond extract, etc. Don’t be afraid to play around and see what works for you!
