When did your athletic career begin?

Like a lot of Canadians, I started to play organized hockey at the age of 5 years old and I am still playing at the age of 59. I also wrestled for my high school and at higher levels.  How I trained for wrestling, had a big impact on my understanding of the importance of creating different adaptations through a variety of training methods to maximize technical skill effectiveness

What adversity have you had to overcome as athlete?

My height, I am 5’6, was a big challenge to overcome, I was playing hockey against much taller and bigger guys. But my training as a wrestler enabled me to be have a higher level of conditioning than most of the hockey players I played against. This helped make up for my lack of size.

How has working out impacted your life?

It has had a huge impact and along with proper nutrition,  has played a vital role and my physical and mental well being.

How often do you train and for how long?

I train 6 days a week for 45 minutes max including warm up and cool down. I started  this type of training schedule when I turned 50.  The short intense training sessions allows my body to recover quickly.
